How it works

Twenty minutes. Every muscle.

Here's exactly what happens from the moment you walk in, so there are no surprises.

Your session, step by step

  1. Health check and body scan

On your first visit we go through a short health questionnaire and talk about your golf: your handicap, your aches, what you want more of. An InBody scan measures your muscle and body fat so we have a real starting point.

  2. Suit up

You put on the training garment and the wireless miha bodytec suit. Electrodes sit over your thighs, glutes, abdomen, lower back, upper back, chest and arms. No cables, so you can rotate and swing freely.

  3. First ten minutes: build the engine

Squats, lunges, hinges and presses at bodyweight. During each impulse the muscles work hard; then there's a rest of about four seconds. As you adapt, those rests get shorter. Gerard sets the intensity for each muscle group separately.

  4. Second ten minutes: make it golf

Rotations, split-stance holds, slow swing patterns and posture work, all under impulse. This is where the strength gets taught to move the way your swing does.

  5. Recover for 48 hours

Your muscles need about two days to rebuild, so plan your session at least a day or two before a competition round. Most golfers find a midweek slot works best.

EMS or the gym?

Plenty of golfers do both. But if the gym has never stuck, here's how a week compares.

Who it's for

Built for the golfer you actually are.

You don't need to be fit to start. The intensity is set for you, muscle group by muscle group, every week.

Club golfers chasing distance

More strength and stability through the legs and trunk gives your swing more to work with.

Golfers with a grumbling back

Trunk strength supports the lower back through a movement that loads it hard, every swing.

Seniors keeping their game

Muscle fades with age. EMS keeps building it without heavy weights.

Busy people

If an hour in the gym never happens, twenty minutes a week can.

Winter off-season

Build your engine between November and March so you start the season stronger.

Juniors and ladies

Anyone over 18 can train. Sessions are private, one-to-one and paced to you.

Not suitable for everyone. EMS isn't used with a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device, during pregnancy, with epilepsy, or after recent surgery or acute illness. We'll go through a full health check before your first session, and if in doubt, please check with your GP.
